There are many types of bathroom tap on the market today, but
basically they are broken down into two main groups, traditional
bathroom taps, modern bathroom taps and contemporary bathroom
taps.
Bathroom taps are traditionally made from cast brass bodies that
are machined out and fitted with valve mechanisms to allow the
flow and control of hot and cold water. Some taps mix the hot
and cold water within the tap spout, before it reaches the basin,
these are generally used on 1 tap hole basin or the older style
2 hole basins use two separate taps, one hot and one cold. Modern
tap mechanisms offer a quarter turn feature, often known as ceramic
disc technology.
Traditional Bathrooms Taps have a limited degree of variation
on design. Most often finished as chrome bathroom taps as many
people seem to be opting for traditional gold bathroom taps these
days. The only other finish for these taps might be nickel or
brushed nickel.
