Cast Iron Radiators these days are either old
reconditioned or reclaimed cast iron radiators or reproduction
cast iron radiators. Reproduction are probably the best
option as they are normally have a nicer finish and are
less likely to be faulty. All cast iron radiators are
very heavy by the nature of their design and due to their
material and construction. Always ensure your walls and
floors are suitable.

Sizing of cast iron radiators is obviously based on height,
width and depth, but a little more explanation may be required,
as follows:
Height - can be from the floor to the top of the radiator
or from the base of the radiator to the top, excluding the height
of the feet.
Length / Width - This is the dimension from left to right
as you look at the radiator in situ, up against a wall. Whilst
being the overall length of the radiator, the is often counted
or termed in the number of sections that make up the length.
Depth - Is the depth from the back of the radiator to the
front face of the rad. The depth will depend on the number of
columns the radiator is made up from generally 2, 3, 4 or 6 columns.
In addition to this depth, an allowance for the gap between the
back of the radiator and the wall must be taken into consideration.
