| There are now many types of shower enclosure
or shower cubicle on the market, varying in design from shape
and style to material and construction. There are probably
too many types to cover on a single page, so we'll try to
give you a little advice on what to look for and what to avoid. |

| When buying a shower cubicle avoid cheap plastic screen
that are often flimsy and don't have a good feel, or have
oversized frames that detract from the overall look of the
shower room. There are some great value shower cubicles available
online that offer features such as 6mm toughened safety glass,
chrome frames (polished aluminium), frameless shower doors
and rigid shower trays at very reasonable prices, starting
at about £300 including VAT and delivery UK. Considering
you'll be paying well over £200 for a cheap shower cubicle
from your local DIY centre, you may as well spend that little
extra and get a whole lot more for your money. |

| Shower Trays - In the United States
plastic shower trays are most popular, this is amazing given
the weight issue that the population seems to have. Plastic
shower trays are very flimsy and generally supported by steel
frames, DO NOT buy this style of shower tray! In the UK acrylic
capped shower trays are the style you should buy. Most common
are stone resin acrylic capped shower trays, heavy, solid
and robust. New on the scene are acrylic capped reinforced
shower trays, similar to stone resin trays these trays are
lighter and often come with an easy plumb option. Easy plumb
shower trays have adjustable legs to raise the shower tray,
so the pipe work can easily be fitted below the tray and a
facia to cover the gap between the floor and the base of the
shower, giving a neat and tidy finish. |
